Bulgaria has one of the highest levels of broadband connectivity in the world. Surprisingly, the Bulgarian IX (BIX.BG) was only established in mid-2009. It now has 8 sites and 56 members exchanging 97Gbps of peak traffic using Juniper and Cisco equipment. BIX.BG is notable for its simple service-pricing model. There are no non-recurring costs or setup costs, only monthly port costs for 1G and 10G ports and discounted prices for additional ports.
